Hi Fellow Woodlawn Members,

Today is the FINAL DEADLINE to sign up for our first Individual Stroke Play Tournament this Saturday, April 6th, at Split Rock beginning at 8:36 AM. It looks to be a great forecast for weather at 55 degrees and sunny with zero percentage for rain. We have 22 signed up so and sill have 10 more spots available so please respond now if you want to play. I will be calling in the final tally to Split Rock early tomorrow morning. Please check to make sure that you are on the list below of members who have signed up.

Thanks to everyone for bringing the correct $ 62.00 change this past weekend (greens fee $ 52.00 / prize fund $ 10.00). It really helps us out! Please try to do this again this Saturday. Also, thanks to many of you (22 members) who paid their dues on Saturday. For those of you who forgot, or for those members playing the first time this Saturday, please remember to bring your annual dues preferably by personal check made out to The Woodlawn Golf Club in the amount of $ 200.00.

This is a follow up to the below e-mail that I had sent on Saturday. Tomorrow is the Final Deadline to sign up for our first tournament this Saturday, March 30th, at Pelham Bay. This is a 2 Ball Scramble to you need a partner. If you don’t have a partner just let me know and I will try to set you up with another single. We are getting a very good response to this tournament so don’t wait to enter since we only have 8 reserved spots. We may be able to get more if need be, but will need to know by tomorrow after we get all the final names in.

Hi Fellow Woodlawn Members!

Great to be back and ready to launch the 2103 Woodlawn Golf Season. I have attached the new 2013 schedule for your files, and it is also on our official website www.woodlawngolfclub.com. We were able to schedule 5 individual tournaments this year at Split Rock, 2 individual tournaments and one 2 ball tournament at Pelham Bay. The rest of the tournaments alternate as normal at The Links.

The first tournament is Saturday, March 30th, at Pelham Bay beginning at 8:04. This first tournament is always a 2-Ball Scramble so everyone needs a partner. The deadline to sign up is normally Tuesday the week of the tournament. However, I am extending that to Wednesday (March 27th) to allow more time for you to call members and get a partner. The members contact list with e-mails and phone numbers is also posted on our website should you need it. For those who can’t find a partner, just e-mail me that you are a single and I will try to set you up with another single.

New for 2013!!

1) We are increasing the payouts for Low Net, 2nd Low Net, 3rd Low Net from $ 60.00, $ 30.00, $ 20.00 to $ 60.00, $ 50.00, $ 40.00 so that the winners can buy even more beers for the members post competition:). We have also added one more closest to the pin each weekend so that we will have three closest to the pin contests for $ 20.00 each. Low gross also stays at $ 20.00.

2) New rule at Pelham Bay / Split Rock golf courses. Members who either don’t show up to play or cancel too late after we have reserved their times on Thursday will be charged the greens fee for that event. Woodlawn is only one of 14 clubs that reserves time at PB/SR. Last year almost there were a few hundred such no shows or cancellations too late to replace with the public. They said that it will not be tolerated this year. Woodlawn Golf had to supply a $ 500 deposit for them to charge in such cases. The member will then have to reimburse the club. The new greens fee at PB/SR increased $ 1.00 again this year to $ 52.00 for walking. Please remember to bring this along with your $ 10.00 prize fund next Saturday. Correct change is very much appreciated.

3) We have 5 new members this year that we look forward to playing and socializing with us this year. We will introduce them to everyone next Saturday. We have reserved 8 full foursomes at every event for the season. We averaged 7 full foursomes last year actually and would really like to fill out the full 8 foursome reserved spots this year.

4) There will be a new inter club competition at the Links for the Links Cup. Tom Bennett will be chairing that event and more details forthcoming.

Reminder, you must e-mail me by the deadline on Wednesday to enter the 2 Ball Scramble Next week. If you have secured a partner, please confirm who you will be playing with so I can organize the tee times. As normal, I will send out the final tee time sheet by Friday next week so that you can see when you will be teeing off. You MUST show up at least 30 minutes prior to your tee time so sign in, pay your Pelham Bay greens fee and prize fund ($ 62.00 combined for walkers). Golf carts are to be paid by the individual separately.
