The top ten contenders for the Player of the Year can be found in the Championships page (near the bottom). This weekend’s tournament is the last tournament at which Player of the Year points can be earned.  Jim Murphy currently leads with 66 points but counting all points that can be won between this final tournament and the various club championships there are five players who can still claim at least a share of the title – Jim Murphy, Pat Smyth, Steve McCrimlisk, Kieran Brosnan and Bob Andrasick. This is a reminder to sign up for this Sunday’s 10 am shotgun start at the Links for our last individual tournament. The deadline to sign up for this is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22nd. This will be a Stableford Event. After this event, the last tournament of the season will be a Partners Two Ball Scramble on Saturday, November 2nd which will also be a Shotgun Start at 10 am.

All three of these final matches and the handicap semi-final with John Solon vs. Donal Maher should be played at this event or ASAP!! since this will be our last individual competition. Please get together with your opponents to discuss and finalize your plans!!

Finally, we are approaching the end of the 4 main tournaments. Congratulations to all those players who have made it this far!! The matches to be played are now are:

The A and B Scratch Tournaments are down to the Finals with Bob Andrasick playing Dean Marraccini again this year in the A, and Brendan Flynn playing Kieran Brosnan in the B. The Handicap Matches are down to the semi finals with John Solon playing Donal Maher, and Tom Bennett playing Kieran Breen. Joe Firth and Pat Smyth are in the Partners Final and waiting for the outcome of the match between Pat Lafferty / Tom Tuffy vs. John Solon / Pat Whelan match, which will be played in the next tournament on October 13th. While we have 3 official tournaments left, those of you still in these matches should try to set up a match in our "off" weeks, or weekends (Oct 19th, 20th) to play at Split Rock, our home course, for those needing to play 36 hole finals.

Finally, please remember that the deadline to sign up for the next tournament this Sunday, October 13th, is this Tuesday, October, 8th!!
