Hi Fellow Woodlawn Members,

First, there was an error in the results sent to everyone for the last tournament. Gerry Noone was 3rd low net as opposed to Brendan Flynn. Congrat’s Gerry, we will make the revision accordingly on the site.

Next, this is a reminder to sign up for the next tournament at the Links on Sunday, October 13th, at 11:30 am. We only have 3 Woodlawn Tournaments remaining which are:

Sunday, October 13th, Links (11:30 am)- Stroke Play Event

Sunday, October 27th, Links (10 am shotgun) – Stabelford Event

Saturday, November 2nd, Links (10 am shotgun)- 2 Ball Scramble

Finally, we are approaching the end of the 4 main tournaments. Congratulations to all those players who have made it this far!! The matches to be played are now are:

The A and B Scratch Tournaments are down to the Finals with Bob Andrasick playing Dean Marraccini again this year in the A, and Brendan Flynn playing Kieran Brosnan in the B. The Handicap Matches are down to the semi finals with John Solon playing Donal Maher, and Tom Bennett playing Kieran Breen. Joe Firth and Pat Smyth are in the Partners Final and waiting for the outcome of the match between Pat Lafferty / Tom Tuffy vs. John Solon / Pat Whelan match, which will be played in the next tournament on October 13th. While we have 3 official tournaments left, those of you still in these matches should try to set up a match in our "off" weeks, or weekends (Oct 19th, 20th) to play at Split Rock, our home course, for those needing to play 36 hole finals.

Finally, please remember that the deadline to sign up for the next tournament this Sunday, October 13th, is this Tuesday, October, 8th!!

A new page has been added to the site listing past Handicap Champions. It can be found by rolling over the History tab and clicking Handicap Champions or by going to the History page and clicking where it says Handicap Champions. Many thanks to Pat Lafferty for preparing the list. I have a request to ask from the club. I would like someone to prepare a short history of the club. It should mention the highlights but be brief enough to fit on a single typed page. I have some material from past dances but find I don’t know enough information or people involved to do the job adequately. he deadline to sign up for the Woodlawn Stableford Tournament this Sunday, September 29th, at Split Rock beginning at 8:20 AM. FYI, I checked out the course yesterday and it seems to be in good shape. The forecast is calling for 0% chance of rain and in the low 70’s through Sunday, so it should be a great day to play.

The Player of the Year points are up to date through September 14th (look at bottom of Championships page). Jim Murphy currently leads with 48 points but 7 players could catch him by winning one tournament or competition and 27 people are within two tournaments or competitions of the lead.

The Championships page has been updated with the results of all matches played through September 14th. In a rematch of last year’s final. Dean Marraccini will be playing defending champion Bob Andrasick in the Club Championship. Good luck to both players. For the remaining competitions, please try and complete all matches as soon as possible.
